Do you know how to shut your mind off and just sit and be still? It seems simple, doesn’t it? Just sit and be still. However, if you’ve ever tried this, you may know that it is not as easy as it sounds. Our brains are designed to be active. Trying to quieten the mind and give yourself some space within your own head is challenging, but once you learn how to do it, it can feel incredibly empowering. For guided practice, get in touch.
According to current research, the average person spends almost half their time worrying and feeling anxious. Distracting thoughts often lead to discontent, which can manifest in various ways – lack of concentration, sleeplessness, and irritability to name a few. Developing the skill of mindfulness and meditation, along with a few calming breathing techniques, helps quieten the mind. In addition to mental benefits, this skill has physical advantages as well, such as a slower heart rate, decreased anxiety levels, and higher brain functioning. This seminar aims to provide participants with practical strategies that they can implement to help them relax, reduce their stress, sleep better, and improve their overall concentration. We offer 1-hour and 2-hour sessions.
Our self-defense seminars and workshops focus on developing an empowering mindset as well as teaching practical, immediately applicable techniques that address threat scenarios if someone is attacked either standing up or on the ground. No prior experience is necessary to perform any of the moves nor are there any requirements of athletic ability.
The sessions are suitable for ages 16 and over; however, anyone under 16 may attend provided they are accompanied by a responsible adult. Please get in touch for more details. We offer 1-hour, 2-hour, and 4-hour sessions.
